Sharing inspiration

My photograph of the gorgeous P.R.E. stallion Benedict D Beanavente (breeder - Maria Soldatova, owner - Irena Shagina), became the inspiration for a known model horse sculptor Oleg Bazhenov. The 1:12 scale model is named Rock'n'Roll. 

I cannot tell you how happy the news made me, it came as a complete surprise, as I had no idea someone was working on a sculpture based on my image before it was officialy announced by the author. It's awesome that my photography can inspire other artists. Funnily, when I took the photo and showed it to Maria, she was sceptical and thought the stallion looked like a fool. But I knew straight away that this was an image I liked. And now it has gone from 2D to 4D. 

Now the charismatic and stellar Benedict can take his place on the shelves of model horse collectors.
